The New England Patriots saw several of their players go down with apparent injuries during Wednesday’s and Thursday’s joint practices with the New York Giants. However, it appears that none of the ailments were serious in nature.

The four players shaken up on Wednesday — offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, and wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Jakobi Meyers — were all back the following day as full participants. Cornerback Jonathan Jones and center David Andrews, who both departed Thursday’s session, should reportedly also be fine moving forward.

According to Pro Football Focus’ Doug Kyed, Jones only suffered a minor injury on Thursday. The 27-year-old visited the athletic training area near the end of practice. Dealing with apparent lower left leg injury and looking in pain, he walked over to the training area by himself but did eventually not return to the session.

However, the injury suffered was described as “nothing significant.” This is obviously good news for the team, given that Jones again projects as New England’s starting slot cornerback this season. With him out, the Patriots turned to free agency acquisition Jalen Mills in the slot; they also acquired fifth-round rookie Shaun Wade via trade from the Baltimore Ravens shortly after Thursday’s practice.

As for David Andrews, he also should be fine moving forward. As already mentioned earlier today, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported that “it doesn’t sound like there’s any cause for concern.”

Andrews left Thursday’s practice with what appeared to be a right foot/ankle issue. He did not return, but apparently has not suffered any significant damage.

The Patriots will travel to New Jersey this weekend to take on the Giants in both teams’ preseason finale.
