The team is parting ways with the first signing of the Sirianni era in Philly.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to make adjustments to the roster, and on Thursday waived cornerback Shakial Taylor — the first acquisition of the Nick Sirianni era. The move seems to indicate that the team is preparing for the return of linebacker Alex Singleton from the reserve/COVID list — Singleton was back at the facility on Wednesday but hadn’t been fully reinstated yet.

Taylor was with the Indianapolis Colts his rookie season in 2019, but was cut by the team in November that year, and spent the better part of 2020 bouncing around between the Broncos and Giants. The CB wasn’t on a roster for the 2020 season and then was ultimately claimed by the Eagles in mid-February.

With the addition of Steven Nelson to play alongside Darius Slay, and the continual improvement by rookie Zech McPhearson, some moves at the position aren’t entirely unexpected. The team also still has Avonte Maddox, Craig James, Michael Jacquet, Lavert Hill, Josiah Scott, Kevon Seymour, and Grayland Arnold at the CB position.
