In a month all this speculation about the 2022 NFL draft will be put aside and everyone will finally know who their favorite team is drafting. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have filled some significant holes on the roster thanks to a surplus of salary cap space, meaning they can take some chances in the draft.

Our friends over at Draft Wire have a new mock draft out and they really shake things up for the Steelers. DW has Pittsburgh trading up from the No. 20 spot all the way to No. 12 with the Washington Commanders. Was it to draft a quarterback? Nope. They have the Steelers going up to get massive Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis.

Here’s what they had to say about the pick:

The Vikings need a corner, but they can afford to move down and still land a top prospect later thanks to a deep class. The Steelers desperately need an enforcer in the middle to improve their rush defense, and Davis continues to prove that he’s a rare talent.

His massive frame and elite athleticism is worth trading a Day 2 pick to move up ahead of the Texans and Ravens, two teams that would love to land him.

It is important to note that in this scenario, the top two quarterbacks are both off the board. Liberty’s Malik Willis went No. 1 overall to the Atlanta Falcons after a trade and Pitt’s Kenny Pickett went No. 6 overall to the Carolina Panthers.

Davis is a rare prospect and a perfect fit for the Steelers. But would you move up to take him? Let us know in the comments below.
