The Pittsburgh Steelers have added some depth to their ILB core.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team who absolutely are looking to add some depth to their inside linebacker corps, and they found a way to add to that depth. According to Tom Pelissero, and other sources, the Steelers have acquired linebacker Joe Schobert via trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The #Jaguars have agreed to trade veteran LB Joe Schobert to the #Steelers, source said.
First on the story: @meganschobert, who probably has pretty good sources herself.

At this point, it is unknown what the Steelers gave up for Schobert’s services, but it is undeniable what Schobert will bring to the team’s linebacker depth.
With Schobert in the mix, it now provides valuable depth behind the likes of Devin Bush, Robert Spillane and Buddy Johnson. Unfortunately, the addition of Schobert would mean it would be difficult to keep players like Ulysees Gilbert III and Marcus Allen.
The Steelers have yet to make this move official, but at this point the sources listed are typically reliable. In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare not just for the rest of the preseason, but also the 2021 regular season.
