Playing GM: Yours and My Favorite 53 + PS

Every Cardinals’ fan has her or his favorites to make the team. Today each of us have the chance to be the Cardinals’ GM. Here are my 53 favorites (with trades):

QB (3): Kyler Murray, Chris Streveler, Colt McCoy

I believe that if the Cardinals waive Streveler, he will be claimed. Plus, I am of the belief that Streveler would give the Cardinals a better chance to win 60 minute games than McCoy. For shorter than 60 minute spells, McCoy is an asset out of the bullpen.

RB (2): Chase Edmonds, James Conner

• PS (2): Jonathan Ward, Eno Benjamin

I feel certain that neither Ward nor Benjamin would be claimed off waivers. Week to week the Cardinals could protect one of them to activate on game days.

TE (3): Maxx Williams, Chris Herndon*

TRADE: Cardinals trade their 2023 6th round pick and LB Jordan Hicks to the New York Jets for TE Chris Herndon.

• PS (2*): Darrell Daniels, Ross Travis, Bernhard Seikovitz* (exemption)

The Jets have a surplus of TEs and need a starting ILB.

The Cardinals need a young talent at TE and a frequent target up the seams for Kyler Murray. Chris Herndon fits the bill and he has two years left on his rookie 4th round contract.

WR (6): DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green. Rondale Moore, Andy Isabella, KeeSean Johnson, Greg Dortch

TRADE: The Cardinals trade WR Christian Kirk to the Carolina Panthers for OLB Christian Miller.

• PS (2): Andre Baccellia, Antoine Wesley

OLB Christian Miller has the athleticism to play SAM OLB. The Panthers want to add depth at WR.

OL (9): D.J. Humphries, Justin Pugh, Rodney Hudson, Justin Murray, Kelvin Beachum, Josh Jones, Sean Barlow, Max Garcia, Joshua Miles

• PS (2): Brian Winters, Koda Martin

DI (7): J.J. Watt, Zach Allen, Corey Peters, Michael Dogbe, Rashard Lawrence, Leki Fotu, Margus Hunt

IR (2): Jordan Phillips, Jack Crawford
