Jets linebacker Quincy Williams is quickly becoming one of the top linebackers in the NFL right before our eyes. The latest example came at the end of Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

With Denver driving with a chance to tie or even win the game, Williams came up with the play of the game to help secure the victory for the Jets. Williams came off the edge, got to Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and caused a fumble with a strip-sack, his second sack of the game. The fumble was scooped up by cornerback Bryce Hall and returned 39 yards to put the game on ice and give the Jets a 31-21 victory to snap a three-game losing streak and move to 2-3.

Williams told reporters after the game he knew as soon as the play call came in that he was getting to Wilson.

“Ain’t nobody outrunning me,” Williams said. “I’m the fastest linebacker in the league.”

Williams even said he was surprised defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich called the play since they hadn’t practiced or called the play in a while.

The Jets gave Williams a three-year, $18 million contract over the offseason. He is quickly making that a bargain for the Jets.
