Darren Waller is dealing with a ankle injury during training camp.

Las Vegas Raiders fans have been clamoring for an update on Darren Waller. The pro-bowl tight end sat out the last two weeks of practice with little to no information expressed to the public.

That changed on Friday when ESPN’s Jeremy fowler updated Waller’s situation during his training camp update.

“Waller has missed camp with an ankle issue, but this is not concerning. He has nothing to prove, so the team is taking it slow. If prepping for a regular-season game, Waller would probably be fine. He is one of the best values in the NFL, with salaries of roughly $6 million over each of the next three years. He signed a three-year extension before he became a star, as the Raiders believed in him early. But the team will probably have to address this deal eventually. There’s little chance he plays out all three years at that clip, and another massive year from Waller forces the Raiders back to the negotiating table sooner than later.”

The news secures that we won’t see much from the TE until Week 1. The injury can’t be too serious if they believe Waller could play if it were the regular season.

Hopefully, it is not an injury that lingers into the season, and the offense will be at full strength for the opener against the Baltimore Ravens. They will need all their firepower to upset the Ravens at home.
