Raiders QB has always loved his Fresno State teammate

In the NFL, teams are not permitted to tamper when it comes to coaches talking about players under contract with other teams.

But there are no rules against players talking about potentially pairing with other players and recently Las Vegas Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr was asked about his former Fresno State teammate Davante Adams. Carr didn’t hold back.

Of course, he’d like to reunite with Adams if the opportunity ever presented itself.

“I’ve learned in this business, you never shut the door on anything,” Carr told Fresno TV station ABC30. “I know that he’s obviously the best receiver — everyone said one of the best, he’s the best receiver in the NFL. The guy is unbelievable. He’s been one of my best friends since we were in college together. I love the guy … I would always welcome to play with him again.

“I think it would unlock some things in both of us that people haven’t seen yet. I’m always open to that and I will be recruiting very hard. When that time comes, it will be a full-court press.”

Adams — who entered the NFL with Carr in 2014 — is set to be a free agent in 2022, but the Green Bay Packers could give him the franchise tag. If somehow, Adams does hit the open market in March, surely Carr would be pushing the Raiders to make a big move.
