Brown was recently tabbed a name to watch in NFL GM searches.

Now that the offseason is here, NFL teams can begin interviewing candidates for vacancies on the coaching staff and front office.

One Cincinnati Bengals executive is already in line to interview with another team’s general manager opening.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Las Vegas Raiders have requested an interview with senior personnel executive Trey Brown.

Brown has been with the Bengals since 2021 and has previous stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots.

This comes on the heels of Brown being tabbed a name to watch in NFL GM searches by Albert Breer of Sports illustrated.

Brown has been an essential part of the Bengals’ build over the past three years, with Cincinnati aggressively taking advantage of Joe Burrow’s rookie-contract window to build a roster strong enough to contend for titles in 2021 and ’22, and even be a playoff-caliber team without its quarterback for a good chunk of this year. Brown and other well-respected guys such as Mike Potts and Steve Radicevic have responsibility in all areas, providing good experience for bigger jobs. And Brown’s also worked for Bill Belichick in New England, and Howie Roseman in Philadelphia, and has held decision-making positions in the AAF and XFL. His ties to Jerod Mayo could eventually lead him back to the Patriots.

Duke Tobin was also listed in this article, but he’s already the de facto GM for the Bengals, and that’s highly unlikely to change.

This is actually the second time Los Angeles has requested an interview with Brown. They did so during the 2021 season when he was still a scout, and he’s since been promoted to senior personnel executive, which happened ahead of the 2022 season.

Safe to say Brown is someone the NFL thinks highly of and could be in line for another promotion in Cincinnati or somewhere else.
