Rams selected RB Blake Corum and DB Kamren Kinchens in the third round
Day two of the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books for the Los Angeles Rams. LA started the day by trading up 13 slots with the Carolina Panthers in the second round in an aggressive maneuver for DT Braden Fiske.
The Rams surprised fans with their first pick of the third round by selecting Michigan running back Blake Corum, who was one of the most important players in the Wolverines’ national title run this year. With the second to last pick of the third round, LA closed out the night when they chose Miami safety Kamren Kinchens.

At No. 83, the Rams selected Michigan RB Blake Corum.
So Corum does wind up in Los Angeles after all, but with Sean McVay instead of Jim Harbaugh.

Not the flashiest. But Corum’s footwork and lack of wasted movement is teach tape. Precision, and gets small through creases. pic.twitter.com/jBPAEq4wyJ

Well, there went Blake Corum, 4 picks before Dallas, to the Rams. He was the driving force for a national champ. Built and timed just like Emmitt. Similar balance. Cowboys badly needed him. I would have taken him with that earlier extra 3rd-rd pick. Bummer. Letdown. Loss.

I hate the pick!

There’s the RB!

Blake Corum is my RB3.
Elite agility and tough between the tackles. Good receiver out of the backfield. Productive against good competition.
Short. Has dealt with injuries. Not fast straight line. Won’t hit the home run.#Rams get pair w/ Kyren #HallamAnalysis

This is the first pick that I’m really not a fan of for the Rams.
Feel like there was a lot of value at RB in the later rounds of the draft. A top-100 pick could have been used at a position of higher value.
Blake Corum in round 3 is very much a Les Snead pick

LA selects DB Kamren Kinchens
#Rams are getting a ballhawk in Kamren Kinchens. They now have two safeties name Kamren which is bizarre. Kinchens had 11 picks the last 2 years, a very balanced safety lacking the elite athleticism you would want but he’s a very good football player. 21 years old breaks the…

The Rams ranked near the bottom of the NFL in interceptions last year.
Kinchens has 11 interceptions over the last two years. That’s the type of difference maker the secondary has been missing since JJIII left.

The Rams are picking Miami safety Kamren Kinchens at No. 99, Dane Brugler’s No. 79 overall prospect. Per Brugler, Kinchens has great spatial/positional understanding especially playing from depth/two high – something the Rams prioritize over more average speed testing.

How about this stat? Over the last 25 years, exactly three Miami players compiled double-digit interceptions over their careers…

Between his eyes and ball skills, Kamren Kinchens made all kinds of plays at Miami. Great eyes in zone coverage and should be a fun player with the Rams pic.twitter.com/BRRe7RRqtl
