Will the Rams be able to get these key players back for Sunday?

The Los Angeles Rams released their injury report to the media Thursday and it was a cause for concern for a few players. According to head coach Sean McVay, linebacker Leonard Floyd tweaked his ankle before the season started and said it’s just been an ongoing healing/management process and that’s why Floyd has been out of practice. McVay said they’re trying to get a grasp on the injury to prevent it from lingering. Also that Floyd is responding well to this point to the new treatment processes and procedures the team has implemented.

It’s crucial for Floyd to be out there for the LA Rams on gamedays as he’s their next best pass rusher after Aaron Donald and a key player on defense in stopping the run, so managing this injury the right way is key.

To go with Floyd, running back Darrell Henderson missed his second straight day and was also a non-participant in Thursday’s practice with a rib cartilage injury, but McVay said on Monday that the team was “hopeful and optimistic” to get him back. With being held out of practice this late in the week, even with him playing, there will most likely be a decrease in his workload. We should expect to see a heavy dose of RB Sony Michel this week against a tough run defense in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On the other side of the spectrum, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was held out of practice after getting a second opinion on his shoulder that requires rest. According to Ian Rapoport, it is likely that he is inactive.

Not having Pierre-Paul out here is a big loss for Tampa Bay, but the Bucs have plenty of depth at the position to where it might not make that big of a difference.
