In a recent set of rankings by Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton, the Rams’ starting cornerback duo of Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams came in at third in a list of the NFL’s best cornerback pairings.

They landed behind the top pair from the Ravens in Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters who were followed by the Patriots duo of Stephon Gilmore and J.C. Jackson.

Here’s a little of what Moton had to say about the Rams’ top corners:

“Ramsey’s interception numbers (11) may not jump off the screen, but according to Pro Football Focus, he’s allowed fewer than 30 yards in coverage in half of his starts, which illustrates the star cornerback’s ability to shut down half the field.”

“At cornerback, the Rams have star quality in Ramsey and a budding talent paired with him on the boundary.”

“Last season, Darious Williams made the leap from a backup to a full-time starter. He recorded four interceptions and 14 pass breakups in a breakout campaign.”

Williams was a breath of fresh air and a huge spark to the NFL’s top defense a season ago. The Rams were very smart to lock him up for the foreseeable future and fans are right to have high expectations for him moving forward. As for Ramsey, we all know how good he is. It doesn’t matter that his interception totals are low when he’s one of the legitimate shut-down corners in the league. The Rams are blessed to have him on the outside.
