The Los Angeles Rams travel to take on the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium for their last preseason game.

In terms of road games, the Rams have split 4-4 in each of the last two seasons. Win all your home games and at least half of your away games, is a common way to phrase a successful season in a league designed for even competition. LA has managed to do that recently but it will be impossible to split evenly in 2021 with the addition of the 17th regular season game and in this case a ninth road game for the Rams. How will Sean McVay’s team do on the road this year? How would you rank the toughest road games for LA this season?

Let’s look at some candidates for the top 3 toughest road opponents:

Week 12: Green Bay Packers

Divisional round playoff rematch. Back to Lambeau we go to even the score from what became the elimination game in 2020. This time the game should be different with a healthy Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp. Jalen Ramsey will be amped for another round with Devante Adams.

Week 17: Baltimore Ravens

It’s either really hard or really easy to forget what happened the last time the Rams met the Ravens, depending on how you personally cope with trauma. Both rosters maintain some of the key players from that 2019 meeting but both have also seen some change over, most notably the Ravens at running back and the Rams at quarterback.

Week 10: San Francisco 49ers

The NFC West is the most competitive division in the NFL. The 2020 Division Champions could be on this list, maybe above the 49ers but the Rams beat the Seahawks last season twice, once at their house in a playoff game. The 49ers on the other hand, on the road, LA has lost that one two years consecutive and lost the last four meetings on either field. Until the Rams break the streak and McVay wins another round on Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers remain on the list of the Rams difficult opponents.
