With the start of the regular season less than two weeks away, the Los Angeles Rams and the rest of the league are gaining clarity on final rosters and depth chart battles. Let’s have a look at the Rams scheduled opponents that entered the preseason with a question at the quarterback position.

Here are the two teams so far, who have named their starter.

Chicago Bears

Andy Dalton has been named the week one starter per head coach Matt Nagy. Dalton was acquired via free agency after starting for the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 in place of injured Dak Prescott. The Chicago Bears led on pre draft that Dalton would be the starter but things got interesting when they selected former Ohio State Quarterback Justin Fields in the first round. Fields has done well during the preseason and seems to have made the most of what appeared to be an open competition. So well in fact that its likely Fields will take over some time in the next few months, but nonetheless Dalton has been named the starter for week one against the LA Rams.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags surprised no one by selecting former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the number one pick in the draft. They may have surprised some by how long it took to officially name him the starter but in the end, made certain what many already knew which is that Lawerence is the quarterback on the Jaguars roster that gives them the best chance to win and so he will be their starter for week one against the Houston Texans. The Jaguars come to SoFi to play the Rams in week 13 and now we can officially expect to see last seasons number one defense testing this years number one draft pick.

Still in question…

San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, (Houston Texans?)
