Kyren Williams’ stock is skyrocketing after 143 yard performance against Cardinals

The Los Angeles Rams put together their most complete win of the season as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 37-14. In a dominant win there were several positive performances, but maybe none more than Kyren Williams. in his return from injured reserve, Williams went for 143 yards and 200 total. Here’s this week’s stock up, stock down.

Stock Up: RB Kyren Williams

The stock of running back Kyren Williams is skyrocketing after Sunday’s performance against the Cardinals. Williams rushed for 143 yards and had two touchdowns. If you had any doubts about what Williams could be in the Rams offense, he certainly quieted those.

Of course, his last two performances have come against the Cardinals. Still, he’s gone over the 100 yard mark in three of his last four games and got involved as a receiver on Sunday. It’s fair to wonder if this is a sign of things to come and if Williams is the guy to unlock the Rams running game and therefore the offense.

Stock Up: S Jordan Fuller

Outside of Aaron Donald, Jordan Fuller was arguably the best defensive player on the field during Sunday’s win. Fuller had four pass breakups, including one on fourth down in the first half and another on third down in the second half.

The Rams secondary wasn’t very active on the ball in the first half of the season. Raheem Morris clearly recognized this and made adjustments at the bye week. Over the last two games, Fuller has been one of the more important players in the Rams secondary.

Stock Down: Lucas Havrisik and Special Teams

These things will get lost in a 23-point win, but it is very much worth bringing up considering the small margin that the Rams have when it comes to their playoff chances. Havrisik missed an extra point and a kick from 50 yards. The special teams unit had a penalty on an extra point that led to the Cardinals being able to go for two at the one-yard line. That doesn’t mention the successful fake punt.

Again, it won’t matter in a 23-point win, but what if these things had happened last week? The Rams may be stuck with their current situation. They made their bed and are forced to lay in it. Still, they can try to at least clean up some of these errors.

Stock Up: Rams playoff hopes

Who knows if the Rams are a playoff team, but at the very least they have a chance. Their chances increased from 16 percent to around 29 percent with a win over the Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks losing to the San Francisco 49ers.

A lot still has to go right for the Rams to make the postseason and the loss to the Green Bay Packers may come back to bite them. With that said they are in the hunt and for the most part in control of their own destiny.

Stock Up: TE Tyler Higbee and the OL

Higbee has not had the season that he would have liked to have had up to this point. However, he showed up in a big way on Sunday against the Cardinals with two touchdown receptions and also had some key blocks in the run game. One performance doesn’t necessarily make up for the entire season, but it’s a step in the right direction.

It’s also important to give credit to the offensive line. Williams doesn’t go for 143 yards and the Rams don’t rush for over 200 without the work that the offensive line put in. Kevin Dotson was a mauler in the run game and that right side with him and Havenstein is dominant. Avila continues to do good things as well. This group is getting better the more that snaps that they take together as a unit. You can see the potential if they upgrade a spot or two.
