It is way too early to be talking about next year’s NFL Draft but we are going to do it anyway.

The Los Angeles Rams just had themselves one of the best drafts in their franchise’s history in my opinion. While it may not have had the volume that last year’s class had, this one did shine with the fact the team selected their first, first round pick since 2016. Since the NFL Draft is over and there’s some time between now and preseason when we get to actually see the players in uniform. Here’s a way-too-early mock draft for the Rams in 2025 to tie you over.

1st Round: CB Jabbar Muhammad, Oregon

The Rams have a pressing need at left tackle if Alaric Jackson leaves but even still I expect the Rams to be picking low enough in the first round to miss out on all the impact tackles. This by the way, was my rationale for trading up for Olu Fashanu. With that being said, the Rams go corner here with the former Husky shutdown cornerback Jabbar Muhammad.

Muhammad is a fan cornerback standing at 5-foot-10 and 183 pounds, he’s feisty and he possesses the right mindset at the position. Nothing is too big for him and speaking of which, he plays much bigger than his frame. Muhammad was targeted more than any of the other 2025 potential draft class cornerbacks in zone coverage. He held on with ease and with great success, ended up forcing the most incompletions. He’s a well-rounded corner that would fit the Rams defensive scheme as he is set to be a great zone starting cornerback.

He played most of his snaps from the boundary but displays the inside/outside versatility the Rams typically like to have. If the Rams draft Muhammad the rationale would be to get better and younger at a position that has 31 year old corner Darious Williams slated to lead the room alongside 29 year old cornerback Tre’Davious White who is coming off major injury. White is a free agent after this year and the Rams will surely be looking to replace him if they do not bring him back on another deal. The left tackle need might be bigger but Muhammad is a better player and prospect than the offensive lineman that would likely be remaining at the tail end of the first round.

3rd Round: Jonah Monheim, USC

Monheim was expected to go day two at least this past year but chose to go back to school. When you turn on the Caleb Williams tape, it’s hard not to notice the guy with the long hair protecting him at left tackle. Jonah Monheim is a very athletic tackle who thrives in pass protection. He displays great upside in the run game as he works extremely well in pulling opportunities. He has some serious nastiness to his game that I personally love in tackles. He’s a true finisher at the point of attack, he’s not trying to just do enough, he does want to go above and beyond.

Monheim exhibits the work ethic and motor the Rams covet in their players, drafting him would be to replace the aforementioned Alaric Jackson should he leave in free agency. The Rams may want to address the position sooner but Monheim could potentially be there in the third round and be a starting level player at left tackle. Monheim also have the ability to be moved to right tackle and take over for Rob Havenstein should that make any sort of sense for the team.

3rd Round via Compensatory (Raheem Morris): WR Tory Horton, Colorado State

Horton is already one of my early favorites in this class and I think he would be a perfect fit for the Rams offense. The Colorado State Ram was the second highest graded receiver per PFF among all 2025 draft class eligible receivers. He had the second highest grade as a blocker for the position. The Rams really value those things in receivers they draft, the ability to block, the ability to make plays after the catch, run routes and have natural hands ability. Horton exhibits all of those things. He has inside/outside ability to work interchangeably with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua in 2025.

He came in second among all receivers in yards after the catch and caught eight of his 14 contested catch opportunities. Horton fights for extra yards and forced the third most missed tackles in the game. If the Rams drafted another receiver it would be more of a need than people realize. The Rams currently have Nacua, Kupp and newly-selected Jordan Whittington remaining as the only receivers signed to the roster past this year. Horton has top receiver upside that could be untapped in a dynamic Sean McVay offense with at least one more year of Matthew Stafford throwing the football.

4th Round: QB Jalon Daniels, Kansas

Jalon Daniels is another one of my favorites in the draft but has been for awhile. Daniels turned around a reeling Kansas football program that went from winning zero games to back to back bowl games. The big catch is that he missed almost all of last year with an injury but now he is back and expected to make a run this year.

Daniels offers great modern day quarterback traits. He has great mobility, he can take off and gain yards with his legs but he has the capabilities to throw off or on platform and go completely off-script or stay on it. He’s slippery and is a really hard quarterback to sack despite being on the smaller side at 6-foot and 215 pounds. He has great natural instincts, ball placement on his throws and anticipation to fit any ball into a tight window.

Daniels can throw with velocity and accuracy deep down field as well. He is universally loved at Kansas by coaches, fans and players, he’s a leader and checks all the high character and high-level work ethic boxes the Rams care about. He will need to work on his mechanics at the next level which is where NFL coaching will be huge for him. I think he’s a great fit to sit and learn from Matthew Stafford and battle out Stetson Bennett for the backup job next year considering Jimmy Garoppolo is only on a one year deal.

My comparison for Daniels has been a cross between Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts. He’s very intelligent, physically and mentally tough but the thing that separates Daniels is his clutch factor. There simply aren’t many quarterbacks currently in college football that can win you any game no matter the deficit. Daniels is one of those guys and I think he would thrive in McVay’s offense. Not to mention Daniels grew up not far from SoFi Stadium, the locals would certainly be a fan of his.

6th Round: OT Turner Corcoran, Nebraska

Corcoran here in the sixth round is a smart tackle who has great hand usage. He is a solid athlete for the position and has great size at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds. Corcoran most likely projects to being a swing tackle at the next level with starter upside. The Rams are definitely going to have to replace Joe Noteboom’s role next year as the swing tackle but they also could be in the market to find a replacement for Rob Havenstein sooner than later.

The team still has third round tackle Logan Bruss out of Wisconsin and fifth round tackle Warren McClendon Jr. out of Georgia but I wouldn’t surprised to see them add another option in Corcoran who is a high-motor and high effort player that the Rams would certainly enjoy having in their building.

6th Round via Falcons (Van Jefferson): LB Jack Kiser, Notre Dame

The Rams in this mock add another linebacker named Kiser to their team. Jack Kiser is one of the best coverage linebackers in this draft and has the athleticism you look for in the modern day sideline-to-sideline linebacker. Kiser can be used as a blitzer but most importantly he has very fluid hips allowing him to turn upfield and defend a tight end or running back in coverage.

Kiser is another high-motor and high effort player that the Rams would probably like to add. He falls here in the sixth round due to his undersized frame at 6-foot-1 and 223 pounds. The Rams currently have no one signed at the linebacker position beyond 2025. Kiser would likely fill a need with some upside to potentially be the second linebacker next to Ernest Jones with the assumption they re-sign Jones.

6th Round via Stelers (Kevin Dotson): IDL T.J. Sanders, South Carolina

Sanders is a fun player to watch on tape. He offers great size for the position standing at 6-foot-5 and 298 pounds. Sanders offers heavy hands and plenty of power in the trenches. He’s got very long arms that make his job a little easier to push around his opposition. Sanders comes with great explosive get off which is something the Rams clearly care about after this draft. Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Brennan Jackson and Tyler Davis all had that trait in their game.

Sanders figures to be a potential heavy run defender with unique pass rushing upside based on his quickness. The Rams are looking good in the trenches now but next year they are slated to watch their starter Bobby Brown III enter free agency. If Brown is not brought back Sanders makes a lot of sense to come in and fight Desjuan Johnson and Tyler Davis out for the job to replace him. Adding Sanders would leave the Rams with five defensive lineman signed to the roster until at least 2027, that’s great long-term value.
