There were plenty of things to choose from

We entered the season with many unanswered questions and unknown variables for the Los Angeles Rams and now we finally have one regular season game in the books. And I have good news: The LA Rams look really great with Matthew Stafford!

Though there were many winners from the Rams’ 34-14 win over the Chicago Bears, including Stafford, who posted career-highs in a number of key passing categories, and LA is first in the NFL in NY/A, there are plenty of non-QB categories to pluck from for your main takeaway after one game.

So what would be your main takeaway now that we’ve seen four quarters of 2021 Rams football?

Some potential opportunities:

  • Thoughts on the Rams rushing offense, whether discouraging or excusable
  • A belief that with Van Jefferson and DeSean Jackson in the mix, LA has a deep arsenal of receivers before you even get to Tutu Atwell, Jacob Harris, and Ben Skowronek
  • Tyler Higbee seems like he could be in line for a true career season now that he’s working with Stafford
  • Brian Allen and how well the offensive line was able to hold up in pass protection against a stout Chicago front-seven
  • Jalen Ramsey’s starring night on defense
  • Justin Hollins breakout as an outside linebacker who had two sacks
  • Raheem Morris’s first game as the defensive coordinator and optimism that the Rams will once again be among the NFL’s toughest teams to score against
  • A 1-0 record but an NFC West division that is full of 1-0 records right now

What did you take away from the first Rams game of the season? There are plenty of things to choose from before we start preparing for the Indianapolis Colts. Read a full primer on the Colts right here.
