Random Ramsdom: Quentin Lake played 100% of the defensive snaps on Sunday

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 11/21/23

Quentin Lake played 100% of the defensive snaps for the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday. That stands out becaue head coach Sean McVay heavily praised the player in his post game press conference. Is LA developing another solid player? Have the Rams hit on enough draft picks the last couple seasons? Think of what they can do with this upcoming draft? Even with a 4-6 record there is a lot to be excited about for this Rams squad. That’s a great change from where they were after losing three games in a row. NFL is a week to week league. Rams are trending up this week.

Rams Week 11 snap counts: LA makes big change at safety (ramswire)

“The biggest changes this week came at safety. Russ Yeast was demoted to a reserve role, playing only 14 snaps after being on the field for just about every snap in the Rams’ first nine games. John Johnson played a season-high 71% and finished the game with three tackles. Quentin Lake also played all 65 snaps on defense, primarily lining up in the slot where Cobie Durant usually plays. Jordan Fuller played every snap once again, too.”

Rams’ Cooper Kupp ‘day to day’ with lateral ankle sprain (sports.yahoo)

“While blocking on a second quarter run play, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver had his right foot stepped on by teammate Steve Avila. Kupp was in immediate pain on the turf and went to the sideline limping.

Kupp returned to the Rams sideline after halftime but did not play again. He was listed as questionable to return before the team ruled him out in the fourth quarter.”

To provide some further perspective, Geno and Pete were quoted in the Athletic as saying the following:

“I thought we had a good chance (to get more yards),” Smith said. “You guys will watch the film, I’m sure, and then you’ll see what happened.”

Speaking before Smith’s revelation that his helmet speaker went out, Carroll said of that sequence: “We didn’t do it right. We didn’t do that exactly the way we’d like to do that. Didn’t come out right.”
