Rashard Robinson says Cowboys will regret cutting him after his release

The Cowboys made a roster move prior to heading to Oxnard and Robinson isn’t too happy about it.

The Cowboys are heading to training camp in just a couple days and the 2021 season is getting closer and closer. Players and staff alike are wrapping up the finishing touches on their offseason training as well as putting together their things as they finish packing and prepare to head west for camp. However, one now former Dallas Cowboy will not be joining them.

Rashard Robinson is not one of those Cowboys heading to Oxnard, CA with the team and he is not happy about it.

Via an Instagram post Robinson stated ‘‘ima make ya regret that…Cowboys’ cut challenge” clearly showing his frustration and using this trying time as motivation for himself moving forward.

Robinson saw limited playing time with the Cowboys last year appearing in four games, three of which he started, however most of Robinson’s season was spent as a member of the Cowboys practice squad. Robinson saw his way into the line up in week 11 versus the Minnesota Vikings where he tallied three tackles in the game and saw his best production as a member of the team in week 14 versus the Cincinnati Bengals where he had nine total tackles in the game.

Robinson is facing a suspension heading in to the 2021 season and will be missing two games for violating the leagues PED policy. Being cut shortly before training camp and having a suspension hovering over him, wherever Robinson’s next stop will be, it will be a challenge for the young defensive back moving forward.

As for the Dallas Cowboys, they are coming off a defensive-minded draft that saw them take three defensive backs, two of which were taken with top 100 picks and it is safe to say that Dallas would like to groom the young homegrown draft picks they have added this offseason. As the team is currently constructed it seemed to be an uphill battle for Robinson to make the team and see significant playing time so this move could be a blessing in disguise for the player. Additionally, the Cowboys now have a free roster spot going into training camp which will allow them to add a player at a position of need, or allow them the freedom to make a move now that can more positively affect the team moving forward.

As we get closer to the NFL season one thing we know is, wherever Rashad Robinson’s next stop is, he is looking to make the Dallas Cowboys pay for their decision.
