The Baltimore Ravens have been operating without a few key contributors on offense so far during 2021 training camp due to positive COVID-19 tests before practices began. Both Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards had been absent since July 28th with their placement on the list, but some positive news regarding the two came throughout the day on Friday.

First, it was announced that Edwards had been activated from the list on Friday morning, as the running back returned to practice. Then later in the day, the team announced that Jackson had been activated as well.

Jackson is expected to return to the field on Saturday, rejoining his teammates after missing eight practices. It will be important for he and Edwards to get up to speed quickly, as both have missed valuable reps that they’ll never get back. The duo has enough experience in Baltimore’s offense to the point where their missed time shouldn’t be much of an issue, but even still, they’ll have to work hard to catch up to the rest of their teammates.

Aside from activating Jackson and Edwards from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the Ravens also waived both quarterback Kenji Bahar and inside linebacker Barrington Wade.

Bahar is a Baltimore native who was on his second stint with the Ravens this offseason after seeing time at quarterback in college from 2016-2019 playing for Monmouth University. Before that, he was a two-year starter at local high school Calvert Hall.

Wade signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He logged 23 total tackles and two interceptions in three seasons playing at the University of Iowa.
