The Baltimore Ravens signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth $18 million, with $15 million guaranteed during the 2023 offseason. Beckham’s stats didn’t live up to his contract from a fundamental perspective, but he provided plenty to the team both on and off the field.

The veteran wide receiver came up with multiple big plays throughout the season while also being an incredible leader off the field. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta revealed that he and Beckham have been texting, and even referred to the wideout as “a great friend”.

“We’ve just texted. [Odell Beckham Jr. is] a great, great guy. I love Odell. He’s become a great friend of mine and a friend to the Ravens, and I think we’ll just kind of assess and see what happens over the next couple of weeks.”

Beckham caught 37 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns throughout 2023 but showed he could be impactful in multiple ways. Whether Beckham will return to Baltimore is uncertain, but he was willing to embrace the Ravens culture and was a valuable piece to the organization.
