The Baltimore Ravens had 11 picks in the 2022 NFL draft, and have already seen contributions from the group over the course of the 2022 season. Players such as safety Kyle Hamilton, center Tyler Linderbaum and tight end Isaiah Likely have made high-level impacts, but the team is ready to welcome one of their other rookies back into the fold.

Tight end Charlie Kolar has missed all of the year after undergoing core surgery at the start of training camp. Baltimore activated him off of injured reserve in the last few days, and when asked about how he looks in practice, head coach John Harbaugh said the former Iowa State star looks “really good”.

“He’s looked really good. He’s a young player, and he missed a lot of time during training camp, so he’s still developing, but he’s out there [and] he looks good. He’s so talented, he’s so big, he has great hands. He wants to do well; he’s very conscientious. He had three good weeks of practice, so I anticipate him being brought up this week; I can’t speak for [executive vice president and general manager] Eric [DeCosta] on that, but that’s how we’re talking right now. Now, we have to find a way to do it, which is a challenge, but I expect Charlie [Kolar] to contribute this year.”

Kolar will slot in with tight ends such as Likely, Mark Andrews, Josh Oliver and Nick Boyle. He could be eased into action with the team being so deep at the position, but figures to have a few opportunities to make an impact early with how much Baltimore values their tight ends.
