Happy Monday, Flock! Everyone have a good weekend? We are one week further out from the Super Bowl, which means one week closer to things getting moving in earnest in the NFL offseason. Tomorrow it’ll be March! The NFL Combine is just a few hours away! We’ll have some “madness” to keep us occupied in the coming weeks, and the football schedule is about to get interesting. We are currently in the window for teams to use their franchise tags, and compensatory picks will likely be announced on Friday.

For more important offseason dates, check out this post from RSR Capologist Brian McFarland.

Let’s catch up on a few things as we get ready to watch draft-eligible football players run around in shorts, shall we?

Speaking of Brian, he was on the Deep Cover Pod show last week. Hosted by some RSR alums Carey Stevenson and Michael Crawford, along with @ChrisJustJoking, it’s a great show that Ravens fans should subscribe to. In this episode, the guys all played different roles (agent, GM, money guy, etc.) as they went through the team’s list of pending free agents and more. Listen in now, thank me later.

Ready to travel internationally to watch the Ravens? As RSR’s own Todd Karpovich points out over at SI, the Ravens have three away opponents in 2022 who are all scheduled to play overseas.

As we sit here twiddling our thumbs and wondering what’s going to happen with Lamar Jackson, and bemoaning his lack of an agent, it might be time to take a step back and be thankful that, at least he isn’t Kyler Murray (and doesn’t have Murray’s agent).

Kyler set off a firestorm awhile back when he deleted all of the Cardinals content from his Instagram account. Today, he and his agent released this very bizarre missive:

Murray was the first overall pick in 2019, so he still has a year left on his original $35.2M contract, plus the team’s fifth-year option. Despite this, the player has decided to play hardball right now. It’s frustrating to hear nothing but crickets on the Jackson contract front, but I have to assume most of the Flock prefers that to a public argument along the lines of the one Murray is having with Arizona.

I’ll leave you with something to do today – something silly and completely unproductive, of course. Wordle took the internet by storm (a couple months ago anyway…does anybody even still play?), and similar word puzzles have been popping up everywhere. We have the best one yet though, courtesy of the Fantasy Footballers podcast. Footle!

Your word is guaranteed to be a football word!

Check out the game, and the podcast if you’re into fantasy. Just don’t listen to those guys when they tell you to wait on a quarterback and get Ryan Tannehill late. Yes, I’m still bitter.

Have a great week, Flock. Enjoy the combine!
