The Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson were able to agree on a five-year, $260 million contract extension with $185 million in practical guarantees. The deal puts and end to more than a year of contract drama, and ensures that Jackson will be in Baltimore for multiple years.

During Jackson’s press conference after officially signing his new contract, he was asked about the offense that new offensive coordinator Todd Monken has installed with the team. Jackson said that he’s liking what he’s seen so far, with people within the organization telling him that it was looking “pretty smooth”.

“Actually, [offensive coordinator] coach Todd Monken reached out to me. We spoke a couple times, and I heard from the guys that the offense is looking pretty smooth. I just got my iPad a couple days ago, and from what I’ve seen, it looks different. I’m liking it so far.”

The good thing about Jackson signing his extension before OTA’s and training camp is that it likely means there’s an increase chance he’ll be in attendance for those workouts. Getting to know a new offensive coordinator and a new offense is going to be critical to Jackson to show how special he can be, so any and all practice time would be a benefit to him and the entire team.
