Ravens TE Isaiah Likely offers explanation for offensive struggles during Saturday’s practice

The Baltimore Ravens’ offense went through major struggles during Saturday’s training camp practice. All in all the unit threw nine interceptions as a whole, with the defense winning the day rather convincingly.

When tight end Isaiah Likely spoke to the media following practice, he offered an insightful explanation as to why the offense struggled so much. He mentioned that the day was spent trying to execute third-and-long plays, which is an uphill climb for the offensive unit and usually favors the defensive side of the ball.

“…It’s going to be a hard day for the offense. It was third-and-longs. As a defense, you want to be in those situations because you want your pass rush to get back there and you really want to be able to have the secondary be able to just make their plays and be special. So as an offense, it was really …We were playing uphill today, and I felt like for the first time in this training camp, it was a learning experience. I mean, you could say the defense won, but in my head, we don’t really lose, we just learn.”
