The Baltimore Ravens signed tight end Mark Andrews to a massive four year, $56 million extension, making him the third-highest paid player at his position in terms of average annual value. It was a well deserved extension for the fourth-year tight end, and he’ll look to continue making an impact in Baltimore for years to come.

Andrews has developed a great connection with quarterback Lamar Jackson both on and off of the field. Jackson is up for a huge extension himself with the Ravens, and when the tight end was asked about what it would mean to play with the quarterback for many more years, Andrews explained his connection with Jackson.

“It’s awesome. It’s awesome, man. It awesome to be able to be here for another five years and to be able to get him [Lamar Jackson] signed here eventually. Again, the goal is to win the Super Bowl, and then after that, it’s to win more. Obviously, he and I have a very special connection. For me to be able to play with a guy like that for years to come, as a tight end, you can’t ask for anything more. I’m extremely blessed to be able to play at a place like this, with the teammates like this and a quarterback like that.”

Both Andrews and Jackson have previously expressed their desire to stay in Baltimore for a long time. Andrews got his wish, and hopefully Jackson will be getting his soon too. The tight end and the quarterback are an extremely dynamic duo, and should be able to continue carving up NFL defenses for years to come while also strengthening their friendship.
