If not now, when?

With M&T Bank Stadium hosting the AFC Championship game for the first time, what better occasion to bring back the team’s Hall of Famers to be involved in the festivities?

The two legends of the game on Sunday will be none other than Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Are we getting a squirrel dance? I’m just some nobody, but it sure seems like the perfect way to fire up the crowd if you ask me!

That’s not all though.

The Honorary Captain will be Jonathan Ogden!

That’s still not all.

There will be Ravenswalk interviews with both Terrell Suggs and Anquan Boldin.

And that Michael Phelps guy, Baltimoron that he is, will do the game ball delivery.

That’s a lotta (team) hardware represented. Lewis is the only player to have rings for both Super Bowl XXXV and XLVII. Ogden joins him with one for the former, while Reed, Suggs, and Boldin all earned one for the latter.

Phelps has a bit of hardware of his own, of course, as the owner of 28 Olympic medals, including 23 of the gold variety. The former Ravens have individual accolades as well, but for now we’re keeping the focus squarely where it belongs: on the team, the team, the TEAM.

Let’s hope having such greatness in the house will help inspire the current crop of Ravens to join those guys as members of the elite club of Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl Champions. It will absolutely have the fans rocking beyond anything that stadium has ever witnessed.

(It sure would be cool if we could get the weather to cooperate…but I digress.)

While the Ravens are pulling out all the stops, I have a bit of a bone to pick with them regarding one small piece of the festivities. Stay tuned to RSR – I’ll be climbing atop my soap box here shortly.
