TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston, considered by many to be the best player at his position in the 2023 NFL Draft class, reportedly has a visit scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston, Johnston is scheduled to visit the Jaguars along with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings.

Johnston, 21, earned First Team All-Big 12 honors twice during his time at TCU, tallying 115 receptions for 2,190 yards and 14 touchdowns in three seasons. At the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, the 6’3, 208-pound receiver didn’t participate in many drills, but posted a 40.5-inch vertical and 11’2″ broad jump.

Early mock drafts during the 2022 season often paired Johnston with the Jaguars. However, the reinstatement of Calvin Ridley from suspension coupled with Jacksonville losing Jawaan Taylor and Arden Key in free agency shifted that perception. With Ridley, Christian Kirk, and Zay Jones on the roster, it’d be a relative surprise if the Jaguars drafted a receiver early.

While adding a 6’3 ball winner would be a boon to the Jaguars offense, the team has more pressing needs essentially across the board on defense. Still, Johnston’s talent may be difficult to pass on if he’s on the board at 24th overall.
