The new Steelers QB has a ton of appreciation for his new organization

Russell Wilson signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been one of the most talked about moves of the offseason. The Steelers needed an upgrade at quarterback in order to make a big leap forward, and several of Wilson’s new teammates were heavy influences on getting him to Pittsburgh.

In an interview with Essence, Wilson discussed what it meant to be a Steeler, and how excited he was to play for head coach Mike Tomlin.

“To play 13 years in the NFL has been a dream come true,” Wilson said. “To be able to play for Mike Tomlin- to stand side by side with him and try to accomplish all the goals that I want to accomplish with the Steelers organization, and what that represents for the NFL, is one of the greatest gifts in the world.”

Tomlin was visibly enthused by the addition of Wilson on the day he and several other free agent acquisitions were introduced to the team. If all goes well, Pittsburgh could be a real player in the AFC.
