Saints and Seahawks square off on Monday Night Football to close week 7

Two of last year’s division winners square off tonight in prime time.

In recent years, a Seahawks vs. Saints matchup would be a recipe for an exciting game driven by elite quarterback play. Russell Wilson and Drew Brees faced each other four times over their careers, three times in the regular season plus once during the 2013 postseason, with the two teams splitting those results 2-2.

However, Wilson is on injured reserve with a busted finger and Brees is now retired and working for NBC. As a result, the quarterback matchup is Geno Smith vs. Jameis Winston, which should be entertaining at least, even if the play of those two players falls short of exceptional.
