Rest of Giants’ roster receives little attention

Even though Saquon Barkley is returning from an ACL tear, oddsmakers have high hopes for him in 2021. The New York Giants running back was given a 9/1 chance to lead the NFL in rushing yards in odds released today by SportsBetting.ag. The top six are:

1. Derrick Henry 3/1
2. Dalvin Cook 5/1
3. Nick Chubb 7/1
4. Christian McCaffrey 8/1
T5. Saquon Barkley 9/1
T5. Jonathan Taylor 9/1

In 2018, his only full season as a pro, Barkley was second in the league with 1,307 rushing yards. The Giants’ playbook still revolves around him, and he will look to challenge that total assuming he is fully healthy for Week 1. However, durability concerns make it unlikely that he will continue to average over 15 attempts per game.

Unsurprisingly, the sportsbook has little faith in New York’s rebuilt passing game. Daniel Jones was given a 66/1 chance to lead the league in passing yards, tied for second-lowest among starting quarterbacks. Kenny Golladay, the only Giants wideout listed, has a 33/1 chance to be the league’s receiving leader.

Dak Prescott (10/1) and Terry McLaurin (14/1) were given the NFC East’s highest odds in their respective categories. The Dallas Cowboys are the division’s only team with multiple receivers listed — both Amari Cooper (20/1) and CeeDee Lamb (33/1) made the cut.
