Sunday’s 33-30 overtime loss for the Seahawks included one key injury, with right tackle Brandon Shell exiting the game late in the fourth quarter with an ankle sprain. Jamarco Jones filled in during the final few minutes in his absence.

On Monday, Pete Carroll provided an update on Shell, along with rookie wide receiver Dee Eskridge and defensive tackle Bryan Mone:

Shell played and started in 11 games at right tackle during the 2020 season and provided some needed stability on the outside after signing a two-year contract with the Seahawks and replacing the spot left by Germain Ifedi. Cedric Ogbuehi would be the normal backup right tackle but he’s on injured reserve, so that leaves you with Jamarco Jones and Jake Curhan as RT options.

Eskridge missed Sunday’s game after suffering a concussion in the Week 1 win over the Colts. The second round pick from Western Michigan caught one ball for six yards in Indianapolis, as well as rushing for 22 yards on two jet sweeps, sustaining the injury on the second carry after being knocked out of bounds.

Mone produced five tackles and a QB hit in the Week 1 victory, playing in 46% of the defensive snaps. He has steadily become one of Seattle’s more important players on the defensive line alongside Poona Ford.
