Tuesday the Seattle Seahawks brought back tight end Luke Willson for a fourth stint with the team. Fans were excited for Willson’s return and for the potential return of Techno Thursday. However, in spite of having officially announced the signing and the return to Seattle and practicing in full on Tuesday, Willson did not even make it until Techno Thursday.

Long story short, Willson has decided to call it a day and has announced his retirement from the NFL.

Brady Henderson of ESPN summed up the situation based on what he had been able to learn from sources on Wednesday.

Thus, the question of the depth for the Seahawks at tight end remains, with Colby Parkinson still dealing with a foot injury. Tyler Mabry returned to practice on Tuesday, however, having released Dom Wood-Anderson on Sunday, the Seahawks could be looking at Gerald Everett and Will Dissly seeing significant snaps Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers in the preseason finale.
