Seahawks work out four free agents, including Jachai Polite

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks worked out four free agents today, all representing different positions in need of depth.

Tre Roberson is a former college quarterback who converted to corner. He has bounced around practice squads and the CFL. Roberson was most recently with the Chicago Bears until he was cut just a little more than a week ago.

L.J. Scott is a name that you might remember from Michigan State. He is a running back that has bounced around on some preseason rosters and even was also reportedly retired from football. This seems like relevant news given Rashaad Penny’s recent injury could put him out for a few weeks.

Jachai Polite had a cup of coffee on the Seahawks practice squad in 2019 as he only lasted three weeks with the team. The former All-SEC and third-round pick out of Florida has also landed on several practice squads and the defensive end could be given another chance by the Seahawks. He had the rare distinction of getting cut as a rookie by the Jets despite being picked within the first two days.

De’Quan Hampton has been everywhere, going from JUCO, to USC, to multiple practice squads and in 2020, the XFL. Now, the tight end is back fighting for an NFL practice squad spot once again.
