The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t getting what they paid for out of running back Najee Harris. The two 1,000-yard seasons are nice and all, but it still only breaks down to 63.6 yards per game. Those aren’t the kind of numbers you expect to see out of your first-round draft selection.

Pittsburgh finds themselves in an awkward spot coming out of the bye week. They are 3-2 and in second place in the division but are still seeking an identity on offense. The team needs to add players and as For The Win pointed out, Harris could be an option for a trade ahead of the deadline to help the Steelers make a playoff push.

Here’s what they had to say about a potential deal:

This might seem a little surprising, but the Steelers might want to transition running back Jaylen Warren into that starting spot and consider sending Harris to a team that could better utilize his talents.

Harris hasn’t quite been the thousand-yard rusher we’ve gotten used to this season, and it’d be very easy to see a Super Bowl-caliber team calling up the Steelers and seeing if Harris is available.

Pittsburgh could probably get a second-round pick in return, and some team would get a proven running back in Harris to help a postseason run.

A second-round pick is a tempting scenario given the Steelers will soon need to make a decision about Harris’ fifth-year option on his contract. Cast your vote and tell us if you think the Steelers should deal Harris before the trade deadline.
