Who will pick Simi Fehoko as their pet cat?

When it comes to Dallas Cowboys wide receivers there is no shortage of options for quarterback Dak Prescott. There is no limit to what this offense is capable of in 2021 if the nucleus is healthy through it all. While Dak is back, so are Tyron Smith and La’el Collins, which will go a long way towards achieving the team’s ultimate goals.

On the subject of aerial weaponry, though, the Cowboys do have a plethora of notable wide receivers. We continue to wonder whether Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb can each top 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, and logic would suggest that this might be the last year in which they will have an opportunity to do it together what with Michael Gallup’s future contract negotiations looming.

Whether as a potential answer in a Gallup-less world or as another option in his own right, many Cowboys fans are excited to see what fifth-round rookie draft pick Simi Fehoko has to offer. We know that he has elite athletic traits, but whether or not they translate to the professional level is the ultimate question.

In an ideal world Fehoko would outplay veteran Noah Brown in training camp for the team’s fifth wide receiver spot (Cedrick Wilson is the fourth, obviously). While Gallup is also on an expiring contract, so too is Wilson which means that Fehoko could be a future investment in 2021 more than anything which isn’t exactly an uncommon path for a fifth-round rookie.

For what it’s worth, the Cowboys are still tinkering with the bottom of the wide receiver position, but none of that should pose a viable threat to Fehoko come cut time. He will have every opportunity to make the roster, even coming off of missing some time to this point, which will be exciting to watch.
