SNF: Bears vs Rams Game Thread

Sunday Night Football, Week 1. The first Sunday Night game of the 2021 NFL regular season. Tonight the Chicago Bears travel to Southern California to take on the Los Angeles Rams in what is the second straight year the Rams will be hosting the season opening Sunday Night game.

The Bears are in something of a holding pattern as Andy Dalton holds down the fort at quarterback until the Bears deem exciting rookie Justin Fields ready for NFL action. Fields’ time is coming soon, and it feels like the Bears won’t really be moving forward until Fields is under center. In the meantime, a thoroughly uninspiring Dalton will try to fend off a tough and talented Rams defense.

The Rams come into this game with a new quarterback at the helm. The uber-talented Matthew Stafford escaped a bad Detroit Lions situation this offseason and landed with the Rams. Stafford gives the Rams what they hope will be the missing ingredient for a team always knocking on the door with former quarterback Jared Goff. The upgrade from Goff to Stafford should be substantial, and the Rams hope it will be enough to propel them all the way to a Super Bowl.
