There were 4 players in all on the Steelers first injury report of Week 2.

The Pittsburgh Steelers came out of Week 1 of the 2021 NFL preseason with a victory as well being fairly healthy. As the Steelers take the practice field for their first day of preparation for the Las Vegas Raiders, there were two players who did not participate due to a coaches decision while two more limited. In the first injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR department, linebacker Robert Spillane and defensive tackle Carlos Davis were the only players dealing with injury.

The fact no players on the Steelers missed practice on Wednesday due to injury is an encouraging sign moving forward. Of the players who are limited, their continued participation throughout the week will be key to their status on Sunday.

Robert Spillane was a last minute scratch on Sunday as he suffered a shin injury in pregame warmups. Although limited, it is encouraging to see Spillane back on the field for practice.

The other player who was limited in practice on Wednesday was defensive tackle Carlos Davis. Not mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin in either the post game press conference or his typical Tuesday time with the media, Davis’ injury is something that just came onto the radar. The fact that Davis was only limited in practice hopefully means it is more of a ‘minor bumps and bruises’ type of injury and won’t affect his availability.

Following the typical in-season procedure, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was one of two players who did not practice on Wednesday as a coaches decision. The other player was wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

As for the Raiders’ injury report, you can see the names below courtesy of Steelers.com. The Raiders did not practice and only had a walkthrough due to playing on Monday night.
