After last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers knew their top priority was to rebuild the quarterback room. The first move the Steelers made was to sign veteran Russell Wilson and then proceeded to trade away former first-round pick Kenny Pickett.

The pairing of Wilson with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and head coach Mike Tomlin seems like it’s too good to be true. It sounds like Wilson shares this opinion as he went on and on about the opportunity to work with Tomlin as part of the Steelers.

“To play 13 years in the NFL has been a dream come true,” Wilson said. “To be able to play for Mike Tomlin, to stand side by side with him and try to accomplish all the goals that I want to accomplish with the Steelers organization, and what that represents for the NFL, is one of the greatest gifts in the world.”

Wilson will work with Justin Fields who the Steelers traded for as the team’s quarterback depth chart. Tomlin hinted that this is Wilson’s offense and we fully expect to see a big bounceback from Wilson after two down seasons with the Denver Broncos.
