Miss the game? We got you covered.

The Pittsburg Steelers notched their seventh win of the season in Week 12 over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Miss the game? Let us catch you up with a quarter-by-quarter recap.

Steelers vs. Bengals: 1st Quarter

  • In the first offensive series for Pittsburgh, the first passing play was a throw over the middle to TE Pat Freiermuth. The Steelers rarely utilized the middle of the field with Canada at the helm, so that was the first notable difference in offensive coordinator philosophy.
  • T.J. Watt joins Pro Football Hall of Famer Reggie White as the only players with 90.0+ sacks over their first 100 career NFL games since individual sacks were first tracked in 1982.
  • On the Steelers’ second possession, the Steelers once again were moving the ball, but a Diontae Johnson drop in the end zone, and a Jaylen Warren fumble on the next play killed all momentum. The Steelers outgained the Bengals in the first quarter 108-19.

2nd Quarter

  • Steelers get on the board with a 41-yard field goal by Boswell.
  • Cincinnati quickly responds with a wide-open TD from Browning to Drew Sample. The drive went sideways for the Steelers, starting with the kick return with Williams’ 47-yard return. Then, Ja’Marr Chase turned a tipped pass from Browning into a 31-yard gain — 7-3 Bengals
  • The Bengals’ pass rush has caused many problems for the Steelers’ offensive line. They need answers on how to contain them, especially in 3rd and long situations. Pickett is getting struck repeatedly.
  • Steelers outgained the Bengals 221-98 in the first half. The Johnson drop and Warren drop are looming large.

3rd Quarter

  • The Bengals were putting together a solid drive, converting on some 3rd downs. On 3rd and sixth near the red zone, Safety Trenton Thompson picked off Jake Browning to shift the momentum back to Pittsburgh.
  • Freiermuth has his first 100-yard receiving game of his career. He is currently at 106 yards.
  • Najee Harris gives the Steelers a 10-7 lead with a 5-yard rushing touchdown. Pittsburgh has been putting good drives together for most of the game, and they finally finished one off with a touchdown.

4th Quarter

  • Pickett has one-on-one with George Pickens on third and medium, and they connect for a 46-yard pass play to keep the drive alive.
  • Boswell connects on a 34-yard field goal; 13-7 Steelers.
  • T.J. Watt regains the NFL’s sack lead with two pockets on the day. He has 13.5 on the season.
  • The Steelers have 400 yards for the first time in 58 games(45 if you count the wild card game versus the Cleveland Browns). September 20, 2020, in a week two win vs the Denver Broncos, was the last time they reached the 400-yard mark.
  • Boswell drills a 33-yard field goal; 16-7 Steelers.
  • Evan McPherson makes a 47-yard field goal. 16-10.
  • George Pickens recovered the onside kick, and the Steelers won 16-10, improving to 7-4 and picking up a key division victory.
