As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to build their offseason roster, the team hosted workouts for a pair of tight ends.

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the team brought in Dakota Allen and Parker Hesse on Monday.

Hesse has spent his three-year career with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, first as a member of the Tennessee Titans practice squad, then with the Atlanta Falcons from 2021 to 2023. He caught 14 passes for 128 yards in 28 games (eight starts) in Atlanta.

The former Iowa Hawkeye also has experience at fullback, taking 118 snaps at the position.

Smith is also familiar with Allen, an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Kentucky. He worked out for the Falcons last season but never made the roster.

The Steelers currently roster four tight ends: Pat Freiermuth, Connor Heyward, Darnell Washington and Rodney Williams.

22 players have been signed to reserve/future contracts with Pittsburgh, and given the Smith connection, Hesse could be another.
