Despite having his arm in a sling and facing the premature end of his season, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster honored his commitment to the JuJu Foundation and spoke at their Luau on Monday night.
“I know it may seem like times are tough, but right now I am happy in adversity,” Smith-Schuster told the crowd. “I am happy because this is God’s plan.”
Smith-Schuster suffered what is being called a season-ending shoulder injury in Sunday’s win over the Denver Broncos. Smith-Schuster is reportedly headed in for surgery soon and with that the Injured/Reserve list, ending his 2021 campaign.
The JuJu Foundation is a charity founded by Smith-Schuster that focuses on supporting young projects and lifting up those in need.
