Two key Lions will be playing through their injuries vs. the Vikings.

The Detroit Lions have declared their inactives for their Week 5 matchup versus division rival, Minnesota Vikings.

The Lions made a few roster moves this week—placing Romeo Okwara and Frank Ragnow on injured reserve, removing K Austin Seibert from the reserve/COVID-19 list, and elevating TE Shane Zylstra—and they enter this game with 53 players on the active roster, plus one elevated player, for a total of 54 players to choose from for today’s game.

Additionally, because the Lions have eight offensive linemen active for today’s game, they are eligible to expand their game-day roster from 46 to 48 players.

Therefore, with 54 players available and 48 eligible to play, the Lions need to declare six inactive for today’s matchup.

Here are those six players:

Lions inactives:

  • RB Jermar Jefferson
  • WR Tom Kennedy
  • DL Eric Banks
  • DL Jashon Cornell
  • EDGE Jesse Lemonier
  • CB Daryl Worley

Despite having six starters—including T.J. Hockenson and Penei Sewell—working through injuries this week, all of them are active and ready to play.

Jermar Jefferson will have to wait another week before he making his NFL debut, as he continues to lose time to starters D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams and special teams contributors. Tom Kennedy is in the same boat as his lack of special teams contributions keeps him inactive.

Banks and Cornell are also victims of depth as they still appear to be acclimating to the defensive line after joining the team last week. The same can be said for Lemonier, who joined the team this week after Okwara landed on IR.

Of note, Worley wasn’t seen during the media portion of Friday’s practice but was not listed with an injury, and it’s unclear at this time why he was absent and inactive.

Vikings inactives:

  • RB Dalvin Cook (Ankle)
  • WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (Toe)
  • NT Michael Pierce (Elbow)
  • QB Kellen Mond
  • G Wyatt Davis
  • DE Patrick Jones II

The big news here is that Dalvin Cook will not play this Sunday. That means it will be Alexander Mattison to start for the Vikes.
