The Bucs continue to re-sign their own.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that they have re-signed free agent veteran defensive lineman William Gholston. The contract, reportedly, will keep Gholston in the red and pewter for at least one more season.

A lot of love and praise gets thrown at guys like Lavonte David and Mike Evans for their consistency and longevity within the Buccaneers’ franchise, deservedly so— William Gholstons’ longevity isn’t far off. Gholston is actually the longest tenured defensive lineman in the history of the originization and while his level of play may not be Hall of Fame caliber he also deserves praise for his contributions over the past 11 seasons.

Gholston has accumulated 420 career tackles, 19.5 sacks, and managed to snag his first career interception a season ago. As a Buccaneer, Gholston has only missed one game, over the past six seasons and has kept himself active in the Todd Bowles’ defensive line rotation.

Going into his 12th season, Gholston and the Buccaneers will be vying for a fourth consecutive NFC South title and a fifth consecutive year of postseason play.
