The Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles are breathing a collective sigh of relief after it was reported that the NFL plans to wait until after the 2024 draft to punish the two teams for allegedly tampering during the free agency period.

The Falcons are accused of breaking the rules during their recruitment of quarterback Kirk Cousins while the Ealges are in hot water for doing the same with running back Saquon Barkley. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the league’s investigation is still ongoing and will not conclude this week.

Falcons fans feared the worst following Monday’s report that the NFL was planning to drop the hammer before the draft begins on Thursday evening. While Atlanta will likely still be punished for tampering, fans can relax knowing the NFL won’t take any of the team’s 2024 draft picks.
