Ever since the NCAA cleared the way for athletes to make money off of their name, image and likeness, young men and women in college have begun cashing in.

The NCAA’s decision, which came down on June 30, happened just one day before laws were set to go into effect in several states that would allow athletes to make money, per ESPN’s Dan Murphy.

However, there is a cause for concern with this whole situation, as Tennessee Titans fullback Khari Blasingame recently pointed out.

Blasingame, who played his college ball at Vanderbilt, is all for young athletes making money via this avenue but is worried that there will be people out there looking to take advantage of them.

“The more I think about these young guys and NIL the more I worry for them. Great earning opportunity but mo money bring mo problems. I hope these dudes operate with discernment because it’s a lot of vultures out here,” Blasingame tweeted.

This is a great piece of advice and something all young athletes who are earning money via NIL, or are set to, should listen to.

Blasingame, who was signed off the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad by the Titans in 2019, has spent the past two seasons in Nashville serving as a lead blocker for running back Derrick Henry.
