The Houston Texans have a myriad of possibilities at No. 2 overall.

The AFC South club could take a quarterback, go with a defensive end, or trade down. Given it is draft week, there is tons of speculation the Texans are open to all three.

According to Bucky Brooks from NFL.com, who released his fourth mock draft, the Texans look to Lubbock for their No. 2 overall pick and take Texas Tech defensive end Tyree Wilson.

The ultra-athletic edge defender gives first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans a high-end pass rusher to build around.

Wilson would present the opportunity for Ryans to have a superior edge defender to work with much the same way he had Nick Bosa while defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers the past two seasons. Just as perplexing as the waving off a quarterback would be the selection of Wilson himself. Many fans are more familiar with Alabama defensive end Will Anderson and would feel like the Texans were reaching with Wilson.

The real reach comes at No. 12 overall when the Texans take Kentucky quarterback Will Levis.

The Texans take a flier on a boom-or-bust quarterback prospect with intriguing physical tools and arm talent.

If the Texans were to take Levis with their initial pick, that might be too high of a value for the former Wildcat. Given that the Texans took him in the top-15, it has a different feel. It might not be the splash under center fans desperately sought when the Texans struggled to win last season, but it would be up to new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik to find a way to make it work.

Heading into the second round of Brooks’ mock, TCU wideout Quentin Johnston and Tennessee receiver Jalin Hyatt would be on the board when the Texans picked at No. 33 overall.
