Get ready for some Hard Knocks.

The Dallas Cowboys are America’s Team. It is fitting then that on the Friday before the Fourth of July that America’s Team would make some news.

As people were enjoying their lunch on Friday it was announced that the Dallas Cowboys, who will kick off training camp in less than three weeks, will do so under some particularly bright lights. The Cowboys will be featured on this season of Hard Knocks. Mark your calendars for the season premiere on August 10th.

There will be five episodes of the series and they will debut each week on Tuesday at 10 PM ET, starting on August 10th. Taking that into consideration that means there will even be an episode following the newly-instituted preseason bye which will be a first for the series.

Dallas is actually one of five teams who were eligible to be on the HBO show this year. You will recall that teams can be exempt from Hard Knocks if they have a new head coach, a playoff appearance over the last two years, or have been on the show in the last decade. None of those stipulations apply to the Cowboys.

There is no shortage of storylines when it comes to the Cowboys which is why they are perfect (whatever year it is) for something like this. You have Dak Prescott’s return (with a brand new contract), other players back healthy, Ezekiel Elliott trying to re-find his form, CeeDee Lamb entering year two, Micah Parsons as the team’s first-round draft pick, a new defensive coordinator in Dan Quinn, and much more.

The Cowboys will have their training camp practices at a different time in Oxnard than they have in usual years. Perhaps this is an adjustment made for the purposes of filming, or maybe it is just a coincidence. See the full training camp practice schedule right here.
