Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

In Roob’s Observations: How free agency made Howie Roseman’s job easier in the draft – NBCSP
1. Howie Roseman covered just about every position in free agency. The Eagles added an edge rusher (Bryce Huff), an off-ball linebacker (Devin White), a couple hybrid linebacker edges (Oren Burks, Zach Baum), an outside cornerback (presuming Isaiah Rodgers is soon to be cleared), a nickel corner he had already released (Avonte Maddox), a safety (Chauncey Gardner-Johnson), a running back (Saquon Barkley), two receivers (Parris Campbell, DeVante Parker), an offensive lineman (Matt Hennessy) and a couple quarterbacks (Kenny Pickett, Will Grier). Taken individually, some are huge moves, some are minor moves. But taken as a whole, what these moves do is give Roseman the luxury of having every position covered going into the draft. Roseman is not in a position where he HAS to add any certain position. He’s already added either a big or little piece at every spot on the field, and that allows him to go into the draft without having to reach for anything. He can just let the draft come to him and genuinely take the best available player at a position of need. Even in the middle rounds, he doesn’t have to reach because he’s already got one of everything. Signing Parker and Campbell doesn’t mean he won’t draft a receiver. And signing Huff doesn’t mean he won’t draft an edge. It just means he doesn’t have to. It’s a healthy place to be going into a draft with three of the first 53 [picks] for the first time in 30 years.

NFL Mock Draft Simulation: Eagles take Mims in the First – BGN
Round 1, Pick 22 – Amarius Mims, Offensive Line, Georgia. As the draft gets closer, it is more clear the Eagles will use one of their first three picks on an offensive lineman. Crucially, the Eagles are interested in a player who can slide into guard and eventually move out to right tackle when Lane Johnson hangs it up. Amarius Mims feels like a good fit late in the first round. He is a more raw player, but has the tools to thrive at guard or tackle.

Philadelphia Eagles could make a Dallas Cowboys extension with CeeDee Lamb a lot more difficult – Blogging The Boys
How exactly could it do that, though? Well Lamb is a much more accomplished player than Smith so whatever the latter signs for is ultimately going to serve as a point of leverage in Lamb’s negotiations with the Cowboys. As mentioned. the Eagles are unafraid to pay more now to avoid doing so later and if they put Smith anywhere near a $30M AAV then the Cowboys are going to have to step up significantly for that for their own top wideout. And this is just DeVonta Smith that we are talking about. If and when the likes of the other receivers we mentioned ink new deals then the price, as ESPN literally noted, will only go up. Debates can be had as to whether or not Lamb is better than every name we have noted, but once again the laws of supply and demand speak for themselves. “The price tag will only go up” is an unavoidable truth here.

Cowboys’ John Fassel on Micah Parsons returning kicks: ‘He would be fantastic’ – NFL.com
“You know Micah. So, he has lobbied me in the past to just be the primary kickoff returner,” Fassel said on a recent edition of the Ross Tucker Football Podcast. “I’m like, Micah, that’s the question you got to go a little further up than me on that one. But would I love to see him back there? Absolutely, because he would be fantastic. He would catch it and he’d run wild and he’d probably get incredible yards. But that ain’t going to happen. I’m aware of that.” Parsons is one of the most dominant defenders in all the NFL land and one of the finest players in the league overall. Due a big money second contract in the future, Parsons isn’t about to be put into peril returning kicks, but it’s nice to imagine the possibilities.

NFL Draft rumors: Commanders locked in on Jayden Daniels? What could that mean for Giants? – Big Blue View
On a recent episode of the ‘Move The Sticks’ podcast, Jeremiah said the New England Patriots, who have the No. 3 overall pick “might not be a Drake Maye team” and “might be open for business” if Maye and McCarthy are their quarterback options. Jeremiah said the Giants and Vikings are the teams he hears most often as potential teams trying to move to three, four or five. Jeremiah added that the Patriots “might be a J.J. McCarthy team” and might swap spots for a collection of second-round picks. The Vikings, of course, have picks 11 and 23 in Round 1 as trade-up ammunition. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, though, believes Minnesota “doesn’t want to part with that second first-rounder.” If that’s the case, that might increase the Giants’ odds of being able to move up the board should they want to.

NFL Draft 2024 rumors: Vikings love ‘multiple’ QBs while the Giants are ‘desperate’ for one – SB Nation
Giants “desperate” to move up for a QB. On his appearance with Rich Eisen, Sikkema talked about another team that is doing their work on quarterbacks, the New York Giants. As noted by the incredibly well-coiffed Sikkema, the Giants are looking to trade up in the first round. Discussing a world where three quarterbacks open the draft and the Arizona Cardinals are on the clock, with J.J. McCarthy available, Sikkema mentioned two teams that would make the “Godfather” offer to Arizona. One is Minnesota, which would require the Cardinals to drop down to No. 11 in the first round. The other? The Giants.
