In today’s episode, Akash Anavarathan and I react to what Mike Garafolo said about Trey Lance getting into the starting lineup. In addition, we discussed how the 49ers potentially mismanaged the quarterback situation and perhaps underrated their first-round pick.

On Monday, we asked what would make this season a success for the 49ers? Akash says to slow your roll on a Super Bowl or bust mindset:

“I’m not trying to be a hater, but, we gotta pump the brakes sometimes on ‘Super Bowl or bust’ with the San Francisco 49ers. I feel like fans think Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers are actually Sean McVay and the Rams.

This team, in the last four years, had made the playoffs once. To say Super Bowl or bust for a team that hasn’t even consistently make the playoffs is just…We gotta pump the brakes on that.

No matter how good the roster is, how good the coach is, whatever you think of their quarterback. I think 49ers fans have become accustomed to lighting in a bottle and making the Super Bowl. Let’s just pump the brakes. Let’s just make the playoffs.”

Wednesday night, the Niners are expected to unveil these throwbacks:

We’ll have the links ready for you tonight at 7 p.m. PT to purchase.

Expect the top players like George Kittle, Nick Bosa, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deebo Samuel, and Fred Warner will all be available jerseys to be available. Other than that, Jennifer Lee Chan will have a sit down with team president Al Guido.

I’m sure Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch will give us some soundbites to chew on and hold us over for a few days.
